Analysing punk rock advertisements/CD covers

I think that it is important to look at current promotional aspects for bands that are similar to the image I am trying to portray. This is so that I am able to create a design that both conforms and subverts to the norms of punk rock advertisements.  Looking back at these images, I can see that a lot of colour is associated with punk rock bands and advertisements.  Bold colours are used here as they stand out from other music genres. Interestingly,  the bands tend to have a lot of black and white images also of the members themselves which contrast to the advertisements that they create.  This is significant as it connotes the variety in the band and the music itself.  I think that I must take this into consideration when designing the CD cover and the magazine advertisement.  Even though I believe that there must be some consistency, I think that there should be a variety of different elements in colour. Here are a few images of the band members and album covers along with other band logo’s and images.
